What
type of animals do you pet sit?
Puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, fish, turtles,
hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs….If you don’t see
your pet listed here please call us! Smaller
pets are watched in my home and are charged as
critter care. Please see rates and services for
more information on fees applicable to your
pet.
How
long does a typical visit last? It
depends on the services you request during each
visit. For just the typical feed and water and
play visit it last between 30 and 45
minutes.
Can you
stay in the house overnight? Yes, we
can do overnight stays. Different fees do apply
for this so please look at our rates and
services page.
Are
there other services that you can provide?
Yes, Please check our rates and services page.
If there are ever any questions for services and
rates not listed Please feel free to call and
inquire as to what your specific needs
are.
How
do I set up services for my pet? The first
thing we do is set up a time to come out for a
“meet and greet.” I try to schedule these during
daylight hours. This typically last about
30-45minutes.There is no charge for this
meeting. We get to know you and your pet and you
get to know us and decide what services will be
best for your situation. We will bring forms for
you to complete such as service agreement and
pet history & client information. If service
is contracted, we will also pick up the key.
(Please make sure keys work.) If we have to make
additional trips to pick up forms or keys there
is a service fee of $8.00.
When
do I pay you? First
time clients and holiday reservation are
required to pay ˝ the total estimated fees at
the meet and greet. Repeat clients leave full
payment in the home, to be picked up at the
first visit of that pet sit.
What
forms of payment do you accept? At
the present time we accept checks, cash and
money orders.
Can
you keep my key? Yes, It’s Puppy Luv will
retain your key for future visits. Your key will
be kept in a secure location with secret coding.
Your name and address are never kept with your
key. If you choose not to keep a key on file
with us , we can leave the key behind in a
secure location on the last pet sit visit or
bring it back to you for an additional charge of
$8.00.
What
if my pet needs medication? We will give
your pet oral and topical medications as
directed by you. I am also trained in giving
shots for pets needing them. For pets on
medication please try to schedule your meet and
greet at medication time so we may see your
routine.
How
often will you be coming to take care of my
pet? We will decide on the amount of visits
that are best for your pet(s) at our meet and
greet. We usually do our pet sits between the
hours of 7am and 9:30 pm. If you request two
visits per day we will visit 12 hours apart
(example: 8am and 8pm) If you request three
visits per day we will visit 7 hours apart.
(example: 7am,2pm, 9pm).
What
do I do when I return from my trip? Please,
Please, Please CALL US when you get home. We
really do worry if the pet sit is over and we
have not heard from you. If we do not hear from
you by 6pm on the day you are scheduled to be
home we will continue the pet sit and a charge
will be added if you are already home and the
visit has been made. But if you do extend your
trip again, Please call us so we continue to
visit your pet and are aware of what is going
on. We do not want any pets going unattended for
any reason.
Do
you work holidays? Definitely. But they do
book up quickly so please try to call as much in
advance as possible. We make reservations on a
first come, first served basis. There will be a
$5.00 fee in addition to the regular per visit
fee for services on New Years Day, Easter Day,
Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and
New Years Eve. Holiday bookings must be secured
and paid in full at least one week prior to
departure. No
refunds .
